New (free) tool available for machine type checking

Tools

Time to get back into releasing some free tools for the benefit of the community at large!

As of today we launched a new free tools page on our website, and the first new free tool that was added is simple but handy command-line tool to check what type of machine it is running on. The idea is that this sort of tool could be added into all sorts of scripts that need to check if we are on a certain type of machine and act on that information. As an example, it could be some startup script only for VDI machines or only for Terminal Servers.

The tool can be found from http://www.gridmetric.com/community/free.html and is free for all kind of usage. Hopefully soon there is going to be more of the same, maybe even tools from my old site of http://www.virtualapp.net/ migrated over there.

Have fun!
