So what do I do, exactly?

Maybe somewhat surprisingly, I got some questions last Friday, during the first European App-V User Group day, about what exactly I do in the context of App-V. Well, besides writing these blog entries I suppose. :-)

Like I mentioned when asked, lot of my time is spent on improving our software offerings, but we also  offer both App-V related trainings and consultation, both of which I think are not that well known since we do not really advertise those services much.

On a training side we actually have our own independent two days sequencing –focused training course bringing your packaging staff from zero to full understanding of the “art of App-V packaging”, which can be had on-demand and I will be the trainer for it. Considering I have been doing App-V (and previously SoftGrid) trainings since 2004, there’s quite a long and solid understanding of the subject under the belt, as well as a pretty good understanding on how to not organize the material (I’m looking at you, Microsoft MOC courses!).

Then on a consulting side, I’ll do all kinds of App-V related consulting gigs (travelling possible, and quite expected, since Finland is rather limited market for this kind of technology) if anybody requires App-V expertise or consultation for their projects or when planning to go for virtual applications (we know ThinApp as well!). While we primarily focus on short-term engagements, scope or size of the involvement is of course always negotiable.

So there you go, now you know what I do (besides everything else you tend to need to do in a small company); should you need such services, we are at your disposal!
